Week 2/Project 52

52 Week Project Photo Paint the Moon Photoshop Actions PSE
Week 2's theme was 'Responsibility' (I'm a little late posting this). Of all my responsibilities, the greatest of them is being a mom. It is the most rewarding and difficult job in the world. Children are a gift from God, and I believe that we are entrusted to raise them right. So my pictures below are my greatest gift (Harrison didn't show up in the pics but he's included in my mind:). They bring indescribable joy to my life and I'm thrilled to have the responsibility of raising them. Olivia is learning how to make Pink Lemonade Pound Cake that we found on Pinterest. Oh how I love that site. I'm hoping our cake turns out good.
By the way, these photos were simply edited with Paint the Moon's 'simple pop' action. I turned the action down to 15%. :)

Looks good, right?! :)

Project 1/52

The theme for week 1 is 'Sharing or Natural' and while I would love to catch my children actually "sharing" something with each other, that isn't likely (at least not this week). This was definitely not planned and the pictures were taken moments before my light was gone but nonetheless I want to get this weeks theme done. I decided to go with the theme 'natural'. As a mom, I make PB&J's many times a week. I took a small bite of my son's sandwich this morning and the jelly tasted artificial. I read through the laundry list of ingredients on the back and had a light bulb moment........!!! Why not make my own? So I did and it tastes amazing. It can be used as a jelly or sauce. It would be divine on toast and more divine on ice cream. I used up the rest of the blackberries I had purchased a couple of days ago. The ingredients I put into mine are blackberries, white wine (don't worry, the alcohol is totally cooked out), balsamic vinegar, sugar, lime juice and corn starch (to thicken). Oh, and a pinch of salt!!! That's it. All natural and no hard-to-pronounce ingredients. I have never made a jelly preserve before but this was super easy and fun to create and I feel good knowing what I'm putting in my kids mouth. Yum. And yes, I still have my Christmas tree up as evidenced by the below pic. It's the last thing to take down and put up in the attic! Blessings.

52 week Project

52 Week Project Photo Paint the Moon Photoshop Actions PSE

I know I haven't blogged lately and part of that is due to the holiday madness and the other part is laziness. However, as New Year's resolutions are on the swing I figure I will try to be more diligent with my blogging. In an effort to challenge myself I've decided to participate in the 52 Week Project. I love the idea of challenging the creative part of myself. As a photographer it is important to keep the right side of my brain bursting with ideas. This blog is not accompanied with a picture but a post will be done soon so that I keep up with the weeks and not get behind. I hope to spark some creative juices in myself and maybe even inspire you to challenge yourself as well:)
Blessings to you in the new year!
